Just a little worried...

So Awesome-o is doing good. Since he lives in my room with me I love watching him before I go to bed with the lights off. His tank has a light on it, and shines nicely. I noticed that he starts to flair alot at night, and even once when I woke up in the middle of the night he was still flaring. I am just worried that he is super stressed at night. Is this normal? Or is he scared of the dark?

Betta should have a light cycle, of 8-10 hours per day, so you should turn off the light when you go to sleep so he can rest..

I have found out that my betta does that too! It's because turning the light off and leaving the tank lights on, they can see their reflection all the time. I turn the tank lights off when I turn my bedroom lights off so mine doesn't get stressed out.
