Fry?

Why are baby bettas called fry? Most people when they hear Betta Fish Fry start thinking Mr. McFish sandwitch.

I'm trying to avoid saying anything at home that makes bettas sound like food because my dad likes to jokingly say he's going to have a fish fry. so I'm trying to discourage his appetite.

I had a rommate in college who brought home 2 goldfiish and a betta and said "guess what? We're having a fish fry!. " She was kidding, of course. lol

well I guess unless I see bread buy the bowl he'll be fine! my dad says stuff like this alot so I'm not to concerned but I just thought I'd see what kind of responses it got.

I think bettas look a bit more attractive then a "mcfish" lol

Bettas are alot prittier than a Mcfish sandwitch unless you are hungry! I think I may have named my fish after a fish sandwitch.
