I'm Betta-less!

I lived in a college dorm last year and used to clean Comos tank in the shower lol It was only a 1 gallon so I had to do 100 percent water changes and that was the easiest way to get it clean. When he died I didn't want another betta at first but getting Kokomo really cheered me up. My LFS is also petco, they always seem to have nice bettas and cheap decorations. :)

Mhmm! I'm almost tempted to go over there today. The grocery store is next door to it too.... hmmm.... I'll have to see what's left in my bank account after textbooks, haha.

Okay, classes have let out for the weekend and I'm gonna go clean Tian-Tian's old tank. Whoo... kinda nostalgic, really.

I'm sorry for your losses.

I used vinegar-worked like a charm! But it was a bit of a hassle getting it (I'm sort of small, it wasn't fun lugging that huge bottle to the bus stop-and then home ). If you're like me and have no arm strength, I wouldn't reccomend it unless you live close or something. Good luck!

Well I just doused the tank in steaming hot water and I'll let it sit out for a few days... that should give me a little time to figure out how I'm gonna actually BUY another betta, lol.

A friend of mine just tried to pass off his Betta on me (we bought Tian-Tian and Kaza at the same time, same place, together). I'm sure he meant well, but his tank is cycled and mine is not. And... he's not exactly versed on keeping fish.

He also accused me of cleaning my tank too much and that was the reason why Tian-Tian died. He forgets he has a filter for Kaza and I don't.


Besides, I want to start off with a much younger fish, if I can.

I'm so sorry you lost your bettas :(

I've always used bleach to clean things and never had a problem. At least you still have all the supplies and you only need to buy a fish and some conditioner...it's the darn startup cost that kills me when I want new fish.

I just got a new ct female yesterday and she's wonderful! She hasn't been afraid and has been eating good. I'm so glad I got her. She's so tiny and so cute.
