Lulu got a roommate

My friend lost his job and had to move back to Michigan- so he gave me the last fish from his community tank. He didn't think this fish would survive a drive all the way back there. So now Lulu suddenly has a black mollie as a tankmate. She made it clear from the beginning that the tank belongs to her even though he's twice her size.

We'll see how it goes- if they fight (so far they haven't but it's only been an hour) my mom can get a small tank for the mollie.

I thought mollies need at least 10 gallons or more and be in groups of 3-6 (I think).

I hope the mollie doesn't stress.

This mollie was in a 10 gallon with a bunch of those little sharks and a couple other mollies but they all died in the last few months- not from illness- he just had the for a long time and this was the youngest fish. My friend doesn't know anyone else who has a fish tank and he didn't want to give it to strangers or leave it at the petshop. He seems pretty low key- exploring the tank but not swimming really fast or bumping into stuff. So we'll see.

Okay so far there's some dominance issues but no one is bleeding or missing chunks yet. They're mostly just hanging out and once in a while one gets the urge to poke the other, but the mollie is too big to fit in the castle so that's Lulus retreat if she needs it. Even though the mollie is twice her size she wants to be boss of the tank and will flare at him. hmmm
There might be issues with the food since Lulu LOVES the flake food my friend gave me. I might have to separate her when it's time for him to eat.
