HELP! His tumor opened

My fish has a tumor and while trying to get him out to look at it (because it has grown to be quite large) he like tore it open on his decorations. An he bled a little. I got him in February. When I got him I thought it was just a speck. He's been my companion since moving off for college. Is there anything I can do, is he doomed?!!??? It's grown quite large over this past month. And now it's open it's whitish inside. This just happened!!! (It tearing open)

I'm not sure what to tell you as far as treating it but since it is now open it is VERY important that your water stays clean to prevent disease. I recommend moving him to a bare hospital tank so he can't injure it further and so it's easier to clean. I hope someone sees this soon. Sorry about your little guy :( The betta fish community will help you the best they can!

Clean, warm water is all he needs to help him heal... Do not att meds or salt unless an actual infection is present.

I'm going to have to agree, there really is not much you can do but keep the water clean, and make sure there's nothing else he can scratch himself on.
With a larger fish I would probably recommend cleaning it out, but he's small and you might hurt him while doing that. . .
Oh by the way it does not look infected to me at least. .
