[mayothai] - the True Swiss Resident
This is the story of my inspirational, noble fish, Mayo Thai.
Since I was little, we have had multiple bettas back home in America. I believe my brother had a Suppy at some point and I had a Sushi. In the past year my brother got a Betta named Dog.
I was at Brent’s house for his farewell party when I got something sticky on my hands, I do believe. I found it essential to go inside where I found Sarah cleaning out her fish tank. The fish were taking refuge in jar and I decided to take them on a lovely adventure to the campfire. They came with, all three of them.
It was then that I decided I would be their foster mother.
It was later that Sarah said I could keep them with me for a week while the family was away.
Me with three fish, it was so lovely.
They went around the house with me, sometimes ate with me.
They definitely listened to music with me.
I liked the sound they made when I gave them food before I went to bed.
I loved their company, but there was not time to get a fish as I was leaving in a week for Switzerland.
It was then that I decided to get a fish in Switzerland. I found a fish shop and waited till I got into the country.
On the 2nd of September, Gilone and I went into Nyon to run a few errands. I mentioned I wanted to purchase a fish. We went to the fish shop and browsed around until the lady told us it was closed…. And also how much it would cost for the entire set up. I heard the amount and realized that I couldn’t really afford to purchase it at that time.
Later that night I was in my room when I heard a knock. I the door and there was Gilone with a box. I looked inside and there was a fish. A beautiful fish.
I immediately started to set up his home in a vase with a plant.
I was so greatful and extremely happy. Very happy indeed! And I still am.
Anyways, it was time to name the dear fish and the name Mayo Thai just seemed to suit him. Mayo is pronounced more the French way, “My-Oh” so all together it’s “My-Oh-Tie.” Not bad eh?
When I left for the weekend. Mayo Thai moved upstairs with the family so they could feed him.
I got back from Middle Switzerland and looked for Mayo Thai in the dining room but couldn’t find him. Then I went downstairs and in my bedroom was a brand new aquarium and filter system! I was so excited! Mayo Thai truly is getting royal treatment. My host family spoils him.
Tank is still a bit empty, but I make sure his scenery changes often.
He truly is lovely.
Then, the next day, the 8th of September, they gave me a light system from Ikea. It has four individual light pads that plug into a cord. They are so Mayo Thai gets enough light down in my bedroom.
I think Mayo Thai is one neat fish and I am stoked to see what amazing things we can do together.
And without further ado, I am pleased to introduce you to
Mayo Thai

[PS : Please tell me if Mayo Thai is really a girl]
