New Additions (And Some Oldies)

One of these days, I'll get pictures of our entire betta family...

For now, I'll just introduce the newcomers.

Rusalki. Don't mind her fins. The LFS people had her in the dwarf puffer tank and she was practically getting eaten alive. They're growing back fast though.

Unnamed male. He is my first EE. He is a tiny fish. Probably the smaller male I have right now.

Ember. We were toasting marshmallows on a campfire that night and decided that Ember would be her name on a whim.

The two other new sorority girls (the lavendar VT and the wild-type VT). Both are unnamed. Also in the picture is Sena, our HMPK.

Our big girl, Aru. She is about two years old now. She was very shy before, but she seems to be loving sorority life.

Raijin, our koi boy posing for a picture. First time he ever stood still for a picture.

Veggiegirl: Thank you! ^^ I can't believe how fast she's healing. I saw white regrowth by the second day. I really did think she was yellow though. Ah, well...

Gf just found Sena (the HMPK female) dead underneath of the terra cotta pot. Sigh.

Thanks, Veggiegirl. ):

That picture was literally just taken Tuesday, and yeah, we thought she was healthy too. No idea what caused her death; her fins were gone and her stomach was torn into, but that damage appears to be from postmortem scavenging. She was the biggest besides Aru and the most dominant and aggressive, so I guess the others will be fighting for her spot now...

It was just such a shock to read she had died so suddenly when she looked so healthy. I really am sorry. Hopefully your other pretty girls won't squabble too much for top spot......

Oh gosh I know I already said this but Raijin is just soooo gorgeous.... I am not usually a huge lover of Koi bettas. I do love the occasional one though and Raijin in one of them :)

Yeah, I know. It was a numbing experience watching (I was on Facetime) Ci lift the pot up and seeing her just laying there... But thanks for your kind words. Everyone else seems so passive. They can hold their own, but it's hard to imagine them fighting, even though I know they can.

I'm glad he is a slow marble because I love his look too. Raijin is also such a personality! He attacks my finger every time I stick it in the water. He jumps for it too. It's hilarious.
