Today in photography we were developing film, which is about 20 minutes of doing absolutely nothing, so I got to hear the more talkative people have conversations. One of them was talking about how 'finally my fish died! Remember when we stuck that gum ball in there to kill him, and he still lived? I kind of miss him now, though.' I wanted to yell at them so bad, but I'm more the quiet, shy type, who can't do that stuff. It troubles me that these people are the future of our country. What kind of person would do that to a living creature? They were girls, too. They were laughing about how ugly it was, and making fun of another girl for being sad when her fish died. I was absolutely disgusted. How is it people can't understand that fish are living, breathing creatures, filled with personality and love? I just don't get it. I truly don't.
Yeah, I know there are countless posts about situations like this, but this is the first time I've seen something like it, and it truly disgusts me.
