I think Button has fungus...

So I got sick earlier this week and all my friends were joking around that I was going to get my fishies sick too... well, it looks like they are.

I woke up this morning to a whitish patch on Button's right side (it was pretty small) and promised myself that I'd take care of it when I was out of classes for the day. I switched Shiny into the 5gal so I didn't have to use a ton of meds for Button, so now he's in her little 1/2gal critter keeper.

So yeah, Button's little whitish patch seems like it would be fungul, so i've given him BettaRevive for now and I'm going to be giving him salt baths religiously until it clears up. He's acting like his normal self though, so I'm hoping that this passes relatively quickly. Also, I'm watching Fishstick for possible pop eye, so I'm kinda a wreck over here what with being sick myself.

Any suggestions for dealing with fungus? I'm a little far from a decent pet store and I don't know that my boyfriend would be okay with driving to Petsmart for the 2nd time this week...

Try Jungle Fungus Clear or Jungle Fungus Eliminator.

Mmkay, I'll try and find somewhere nearer to me than Petsmart that sells it since I don't think my boyfriend will want to drive me over again. Also, it looks like Button is going crazy spastic right now... he's rubbing himself (mostly the sides of his head) on the gravel. I'm afraid he's going to rip up his fins again doing this... does it mean anything?

Sounds like it could be Ick. Does it look like he was sprinkled with salt?

I'm not seeing anything that looks like ich other than the whitish spot that I believe to be fungus...

Also, Button just stunned himself with the divebomber-scratching routine... I'm not sure if he's showing his displeasure with his much smaller hospital tank or if he's bothered by the fungus... I'm going to give him another salt bath in the mean time and hopefully find a place close to me that sells JFE or JFC

The fungus probably itches some scence it's not suposed to be there.

yeah, it looks like he was trying to scratch it off... the salt bath seems to have helped a lot with the scratching actually...I'll prolly give him another before I go to sleep
