What's Happening?! :(

I don't even know what is happening :( woke up this morning to find sheldon dead :'( here's some info about his set up to see if anything stands out that could have been wrong.

Tank size: 40 litres

Filted?: Yes, with low flow

Heated?: Yes, temp at 79F

Ph: 7.6
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 5-10ppm

Declorinator?: Yes, use Prime

Food: Biogold Pelletes and tropical flakes and fed 1-2 a day but didn't eat much and sometimes very little.

Tank mates?: was with some neon tetras and rasboras for a day but moved them to my other tank.

Airstone: Yes

Plants?: Had 4 live plants in, no plastic or silk.

Activity: Was active first two days I got him, third day, activity decreased.

Physical apperance: Looked fine, not underweight and no stress stripes, no signs of illness.

Issue: Don't know. Brought him home, ate 2-3 pelletes and didn't eat much to nothing since then. Removed tank mates straight away after about a day and still didn't barely eat, showed no signs of illness.

That's all. Upset that I can't keep a simple pet alive, his old tank mates are fine though. So got screamed at by my dad this morning and being accused of not looking after him :'(

That is nothing inherently wrong with the tank or your number that stands out, My guess would br the fish just never accumulated to the tank/water. It happens sometimes for no good reason. You aren't adding anything to the water besides Prime are?

No just prime, no salt are anything.

No more bettas for me, lost 2 :( just gonna focus on my main tank and get rid of my small one as nothing is in it now.

Yep, my first died under 24 hours, but noticed he couldn't swim right, so suspect he had swim bladder at the store and I didn't notice until that night.

Dont lose hope!!
Next time if you want to buy a betta (and the LFS you're gonna buy the the betta is kinda fishy) make sure that the fish has been there for at least a week so you could be sure that they are healthy and has rested for quite a while because when they get shipped to the store and after a few hours in the least or so someone bought them and they get confined again in a small plastic bag and all those stress with the transportation might be or become a cause for them to die

Decided TRYING one more time. Changed some things, made the filter current as gentle as possible so its has the slightest movement on the water, removed the air pump because it maybe to strong for him or scare him.

Hope the third one goes ok :(
