Heaters - safe for bettas?

Silly question, I'm sure, but I'm being a paranoid fish-mom: I've got a fully submersible 25watt heater in the new 6 gallon tank that I'm setting up for my betta - it's attached to the side of the tank with suction cups. Is there any danger of him burning himself on it? The guy at the fish store was saying that fish sometimes like to cuddle up to heaters and I just wanted to check that this was ok, and that I didn't need to block him from getting to the heater. Thanks!

That's not a silly question at all. I have 25watt heaters in all of my Betta tanks (2.5 gal up to 5.0 gal) and the fish that do hang out around them are just fine. I have them all preset to 80 degrees and all my little buddies are happy :)

I was worried about that at first, too. But rest assured, it's perfectly safe. my girls like to sleep around it.
