Bubblenest Question

Alright, so this is a little random and kind of a silly question I suppose...but I'm curious.
While doing my breeding research and reading about the male making his bubblenest under the styrofoam cup or whatever it was that was put in there as an anchor...a question popped into my head. What if the male forgoes whatever anchor you put in there for him and just bubblenests in a random corner or even around the cup or whatever it is the female is in? What do you do? Do you do anything? Will he eventually just get it after some time? Should you provide a couple different anchors for him?
...Okay, that was more then one question, sorry ^^; But I'm curious. I think I get the gist of breeding, but I want to make sure I do it right when I do start

Good question. I think the males are smart enough to know where to build the nest. I wouldn't hurt to have a few sheltered areas though! I've heard of males moving the eggs to one bubble nest to another. :) What good daddies!!!!

Haha, I suppose, but i still wonder though....like, what if you get a not to bright male who has never spawned before? I hope Supernova will be smart enough to figure it out...I worry about him sometimes, he's not the brightest crayon on the box, you know?
Yes, I've read about that too! xD I also remember watching this show on Animal Planet about the greatest animal fathers...and now I wonder, where were the bettas? xD

I don't think it matters if the male doesn't use the styrofoam or whatever is put in there. As long as he makes a decent sized nest to hold the eggs, that's what is the most important.

Dragonfish, my eggs hatched 1 day ago and before that my tippy moved his eggs all over the tank. Now that they've hatched (yesterday), he still moving them everywhere bunching them in different places. I wouldn't worry about where he puts it cause he will put it where he pleases, lol, mine should be free swimming by tommorrow and i know he will be glad. Good luck let me know.
