Every time im about to feed my bettas, i wave both my hands at them as to say "hi everyone, lets eat!", i know im a goob, but they all "wave" back at me, they get all excited and dance around.
Every now and then one of them will be "sleeping" so when i wave, they'll just sit there, really still in between the leaves of their plants. So i get closer and wave my finger by their face and they seem to almost jump out of bed like "what was that, am i late, 5 more minutes" Its really cute.
Ok, I was wondering. Last night, well, this morning around 3 a.m. (college students don't sleep), I was looking in on Sunshine. She was literally laying on her betta hammock, not moving, not swimming. Just laying there. I was like, hmmm, could this be sleep time for Sunshine? I think it was!
Hehe I love to watch them sleep. (creepy right?) HAHAHAHA! But all my boys sleep in different spots. One sleeps on the top of his fake silk plants another sleeps at the bottom by his drift wood and the third, well he is a night owl and I hardly ever see him sleep. LOL But I know he sleeps below the fake silk plants. And I don't know if its just me but it looks like their eyes look different when they sleep. Like their pupils get smaller. Not sure if its cause of the lights being off or not. Hehe
Lol ol. So not creepy. I watch Sunshine sleep now that I know that is what it is. :P At first, I didn't think so. But now I know. The way she lays/floats, she is on top of her little betta hammock, her eyes just above the little suction cup thing, just high enough to watch me at my desk. :P :P :P
hi im new to dis forum and so thrilled about it ....i have a cute pink female betta who sleeps most of the time and i hardly get time to play with her...is this normal ? oh and also , she sleeps way up in between the leaves of the water plant...
Well, first off how is her tank set up? Is she an older fish? Fish do sleep, but the bettas I have had have been really active. It is important to keep her at at least 78 degrees in there, she will get cold and sleep more if she is cold. She is more likely to get sick that way, too.
