Just a quick update on Cinder!

So I've decided that I officially miss Tian-Tian and Taco for one reason:

They were CLEAN FISH.

Seriously, Cinder (bless his little heart) is such a PIG. He plays with his food, eats half of it, watches the rest sink to the bottom, EATS it off the bottom, then flares at me for watching and making weird faces as he does it. Because he's so young and small, I'm only crushing up two pellets, one at morning and one at night, so he gets a kick chasing around the smaller particles.

He loves to fight with his reflection, apparently loves to pace the side of his tank ans much as I love to pace the length of my dorm room... and he has an undying hatred towards my Wacom tablet pen.

He's otherwise healthy and in wonderful condition. When I thought he had parasites later became just part of his fin growth and have all but disappeared completely. And oh my goodness, does he have gorgeous finnage!! I thought I wanted a HM or CT when I was looking for my next Betta, but it seems I've been won over by a VT once again.

Cinder's anal fin is longer than his other two major fins, but he's growing into his fins quite nicely. Since I put my boy into the 2.5 his size has practically doubled!!

He was playing with my finger earlier today (finally!!). He was chasing and flaring at it; it was really cute. He's tough for such a little guy, and gorgeous, too!

Sorry for the gushing, but I just wanted to share some good news with y'all.

I just discovered: Cinder loves to BURP.

I saw him do it earlier today, but I had no idea what he was doing. Now I do.

He'd take a huge gulp of air, swim around for a little while, then let out this HUGE bubble and watch it float to the surface. If it popped, he'd look disappointed and do it again until it stayed in his bubblenest (he's got a huge bubble right now in there amongst all the little ones).

I think I brought home the weirdest Betta that ever lived.

lol yes he does sound like a real character. He sounds a bit like Ember. Ember flares at EVERYTHING. And his fins are growing back nicely. Must be something about red bettas, lol. He does the same thing with pellets, watches them sink then eats them. Cinder sounds like he has a bit more spunk though.

Oh goodness, Cinder's such a lazy git. I'm trying to change up his water 50% today and he just refused to move out of the way of the glass that I was dipping dirty water into! I guess it was because I was right near his bubblenest... he's so overprotective.

I'm going home today and I'm hoping I'll get a chance to run over to my LFS and pick up some extra tank decor so he'll have more places to hide from his reflection. :P

he sounds wonderful, and nope i dont think its just a red beta thing, my purple guy wont eat unless its on the floor too :D you should make a video of him for us to see :D
