Unhappy His Face Turned Green :(

So this morning I woke up and my betta, Annakin or Annie, had green on his face. He's just kind of floating at the top and he won't eat. I haven't moved him and he was swimming just fine last night. Judging by the look on his eyes, I don't think he's doing so hot. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Hello!

How big is the tank?
Is it heated?
Are there any other fish with him?
How long have you had your Betta?
How often do you change the water?
Do you have a filter or no?

:) Just answer these questions as best as you can and we can help you further.

Well, he lives in a small vase like thing. it's the kind where you buy the plant and put it in like a pot. but it's not heated, and he lives by himself. I add drops to dechlorinate the water everytime i change his water. I've had him for about a month now and no, i don't have a filter. The only thing that is in his tank are some marbles for decor and his food pellets.

I think it's fungus because his fins have green crap on them and his head is green. but this is weird because last night there wasn't anything on him.

Thanks for helping!

Sounds like too small of a living space and poor water conditions.
I would do a complete water change. I have no idea what the problem is though.
I would recommend an upgrade to at least 2.5 gallons, heated, and weekly water changes. Also, using the proper amount of water conditioner.
I hope you can figure out the problem soon! Good luck!

Yeah, a vase should not be a permanent home for your betta. Get a 2 gallon (minimum) and stick a mini heater in there.

I'm not sure about the stuff on him though.... I could be Velvet?

Thanks guys.
Yeah, i have been changing his water weekly and i have just changed it yesterday. I would get the bigger tank, but it's a very tiny college room. you know how that is. but he's eating and he's somewhat active so he's pretty stable.

it was suggested to me that he has a fungal infection and that it could've been from when i first got him that he already had it. what are your thoughts? i'm thinking of possibly getting some fungal drops.

I recommend Jungle Fungus Clear or Jungle Fungus Eliminator. Yeah, he could have had it when you got him. They can come home from petstores with all kinds of diseases.

if not a 2.5 gallon, at least a one gallon maybe? they make the kind that go into the corner and it doesn't take up much room at all. whatever's being taken up by the top of the plant would instead be swimming room for your buddy. he'll be much happier for it.

Well, it's ok now.
He died, but I knew it was going to happen.
