Red face Betta owners in Denver CO area? Tomato needs help

Are there any other Betta owners in the Denver ,CO metro area? I seem to be having a problem finding daphnia and can't wait it out for first the money to come in and then for shipping of the daphnia from any online stores and I have tried peas but they don't seem to be helping Tomato feel better and he's even looking worse actually. I was hoping there was someone else here in the Denver area that might have some and would be willing to help me with just enough to try it with him. I'm half expecting he will leave us tonight but just in case he doesn't I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.

MrVampire lives in the Denver area. You might want to pm him but he won't be on until tomorrow night.

He made it through the night. I found some frozen daphnia at Petsmart today and have him on Tetracycline for SBD. Thanks to my wonderful sister who wanted to help me help Tomato.

He swims if he doesn't know you are watching and quickly lounges anywhere he can when he realizes you are but still he isn't swimming a lot or well. Tried to net him and take him for diagnosis but he swam away so fast I couldn't get him. I didn't keep trying because I didn't want to stress him to much more and SBD seemed pretty likely but if it's worse we still have the right stuff so I think it's ok. He ate some daphnia happily and I have not offered anything else and won't for a couple days.

I'll let you know how he does.

It's amazing how fast they can swim, even when they are sick! lol I'm glad he's eating the daphnia. I think that's a good sign.

Yes they are amazing aren't they... The good thing about the daphnia is that it will sink to the bottom and he can stretch up for it when he doesn't wanna swim.

Should I give a little to my other babies? They are not sick and swim fine and all that but should they get a little from time to time as an extra precaution? I only feed once a day 2 or 3 pellets, a few freeeze dried bloodworms once a week and flakes on occasion because none of mine really care for the flakes.

So it's ok as a treat with the other ones plus it could help prevent constipation too. Great! Thanks

Do you fast your fish? I fast mine on Sundays and feed daphnia on Mondays.
