current slowing

Alright so i finally got around to doing the bottle method of slowing the current down. Desmond is SO much happier. He can swim right up to the filter out take and have no problems! Im happy hes so much more chill now, but he still likes to go to the sides and use it as a tread mill haha. Hes a curious lil guy :) I didnt even have to tape it or anything i just bent it slightly and crammed it under the filter and set the filter down and the weight of the filter keeps it in place. Desmond is acctually hanging out in in the front of the tank for once. amazing so happy :)

That's so cool! How exactly do you set this up?

Cut the top and bottom off a water or soda bottle. Then cut the cylinder perpendicularly. Then you have kinda a flappy cylinder type deal that u can spread out. I shoved one end up underneath my filter outtake. So the water falls down into the round part but makes the water go to the left or right instead of straight, which caused all kinds of fast current. If u have any more questions i can take some more pics.

thanks so much for the quickie directions Einstein always swims int othe current but then realizes he's making the same mistake he did an hour ago and freaks out and tries to swim out of it.
