How old?

So after reading up on a recent thread, ive seen there is alot of younger people on here. I am 21 and i WISH i would have gotten bettas WAY earlier in life! I guess my parents where never fish lovers, but now my mom loves my betta when she comes to visit! haha. Any way, i thought it be cool to see how old everyone was, and when they got their first fish!

I'm 18, turning 19 in December. :)

My first pair of bettas...I believe I got when I was around 14. Unfortunately, I didn't really know how to take care of them well. I got a female one a few months after the males died.

I'm 18 right now, got my first betta when I was 18 also. Actually I got him 2 days after graduation! =D I wish I had gotten bettas way earlier though.

19. Got my first betta at 18. My dad and I have been keeping fish since I was about 6 or 7 though. We had a 29 gallon community tank for a while... and then managed to get out of it. I missed having fish, but since I'm in college I needed one that would do well alone in a small tank and was relatively hardy. Thus, my current betta in his 5 gal.

He's such a cinch to take care of compared to all of those other fish tanks we had! ^_^

well my very first fish all died. I had 10 goldfish for one night and my cats ate them all (who knew my cats could open doors?), and I had a guppy I won at a carnival that died after about a week. All we had for him was a tupperware container and we didn't know how to take care of fish. I was really little.

For the ones that count, I am 18 and I got my first fish recently! I've only had Galileo, my male VT, for about a week and a half, but he's improved alot since I took him home from the pet store and got him into his 2 gal tank in my dorm room. He barely ever looks at me anymore because he's such a busy body, he's got too much to do in his tank!
