I have a question about fin rot

I'm treating two of my fish right now for fin rot and I just notice tonight that both my DT's are getting it also. I'm going to treat them tomorrow. Is there anything I can put in their water when I do water changes to prevent this for my other fish? I've seen people talk about aquarium salt.

The aquarium salt is a great help in treatment of fin rot but all of my betta's live in salt bath conditions and 2 have still had to be treated for fin rot and 1 for sbd so it doesn't seem to prevent fin rot or swim bladder disease. It will however, help prevent parasites.

The best prevention for fin rot is definitely clean water. Aquarium salt is usually good for it but due to the water preferences of bettas (soft water) most people stay away from treating all of their betta's water with salt. Actually, it's a pretty hotly debated topic. I know of people who use it for all of their bettas all the time, and I know people who wouldn't even recommend it for sick bettas... you might want to shop around for a few different opinions (maybe even do some heavy research, ie reading papers) before you form an opinion.

Ok thanks! I've been trying to keep up with the water changes, but being in college, I sometimes lack. I'm using Jungle Fungus Clear right now for the fin rot and I see it's slowly working on my first two and I just started treating the other two.
