I just got a new CT at petco a few hrs ago. He was looking kinda icky sitting at the bottom of his absoultly trashy cup, full of all kinds of junk... So i decided i wanted him. He was almost exactly what i wanted. Purple shimmering body, tan fins all perfect, no rot, with tiny traces of purple throughout. But since i put him in his new 2.5 gal tank, conditioned water and acclimatized of course, he has just been sitting in the corner, going up for air every so often. He isnt swimming around much, and hes breathing VERY heavily. Hes breathing as if i were to run 3 miles then stop moving. He was sitting at the bottom of his cup too when i got him, i thought he just didnt have anywhere to swim. Hes a beautiful little fish and my first male crown tail. I hope he makes it :( Ill let you guys know what happens.
Edit : he just like flaired his gills open so freakin huge, and they like came out form under him it was so scarey! i hope hes ok! looks like hes having some serious trouble breathing!
