New Betta only 8g

Here is a picture of my new 8g Betta only tank. It has been running for a week now and he is happy as can be. He has a huge bubble nest right at the tip of the heater and flares up all the time randomly.



Equipment
JBJ Nano 180 tank
11w 10k white PC light

Filtration has been modded and I am using the following
Maxi-Jet 400 powerhead emptying water to a hanging basket with filter floss and chemi-pure

10 lbs of colored gravel
Driftwood
Amazon sword plant
Seachem Flourish tabs under the gravel
Seachem Flourish Excel 5 times a week
Seachem Flourish Comprehensive 2 times a week when I don't dose Excel

Food
Hikari Betta pellets
Hikari Freeze dried brine shrimp
Frozen brine shrimp dosed with some brightwell garlic once a week

Thanks! I will try to take a better picture of him later when I am not in the room with my long range lens when he starts to swim in place and flare up.

Lol, beautiful tank.
Is that a powerhead you have? Do they work the same as the filter?
Is the current too strong for your betta.

Also in my opinion, i place the heater near the bottom or lower half of the tank. Because warm water rises (like air) So I find that your aquarium will be more evenly heated with it lower. This is just my opinion.
