I guess that could explain the two large white spots (not ick) on his face. I have never seen a betta with the stripes he had, just had to get him! Plus he was all happy when he saw me in that cup! A cup!

can pineapple betta turn pure black? i just got a new one,(6-7mths??) a CT that seems to be pineapple but the diagonal patter forms parallel lines along his body. his fins have a touch of black on them for future colour pattern. he's acclimating atm and my new elite 25w adjustable is being tested in a seperate container. i only have a 1 gal availble for him atm. i'll post pics once he's settled in a bit. i have 2 fake plants already for him plus a freebie plant from LPS.

he might be pineapple or a chocolate betta, hes more on the darker side but i'll wait for the pics to come out first.

sorry for the double post, i managed to get some pictures, not the best as i dont have the good camera. as said before the black tends to be a fin colour not fin rot

This has been quite helpful to me. I never pay my bf's betta much mind because it's his to take care of, but I always wondered why both our bettas were labeled VT's, when his betta has a different shaped caudal fin.

Turns out good old Wally world labeled his betta as a VT when he is really a ST. Now to figure out his ST's coloration. Looks like a maybe a multicolor. Wish I could get a good pic of him. He's really a pretty betta.

Nevermind I just found out that it's delta.

It's strange how the pet store labeled the betta as HM though.
