It actually depends on the Betta. Sometimes they're feisty and aggressive, and sometimes are carefree and lazy. :). Just choose whatever tail type you want. But be careful with the long finned ones. Those fins rip easily but they grow back. With clean water. ;)

My betta is a veiltail. But does his coloring have a name?
He is red all over, but every second scale is light blue. There are also some light blue streaks at the end of his finns.

No particular name for it as far as I know, except that he's just got some extra irridescence in his scales. Beautiful boy you have there, Mahi!

Wow. He is very pretty. He looks just like a female spade tail I got a few weeks ago named Pandora. Sadly she was sick when I got her and died from dropsy :(

@gn3stranger: Maybe they are related? A bit unlikely though, since mine is from a pet shop in Germany.

@teeneythebetta: Too bad about Pandora! My condolences!

Question Color Type?

This is my Female Betta named "Star". What Color type is she? And what is her tail type? Star is red with blue colored edges to all of her fins. (Sorry that the picture is a little bit blurry)

I know this is just a list of types of betta's but maybe someone would like to offer up their expertise and maybe help me identify my betta.
