Betta Fish Lifespan

Just wondering what the average lifespan of a betta is? Anyone out there have an exceptionally old betta?

Their lifespan is probably around 3-4 years, depending on how well they are taken care of. I had one that was over 4 years old when he died.

The one I had when I was a teenager (Rufus Purple Veil. I now know. LOL) lived about 4 years.

I had a red betta named Handsome who lived about 3-4 years. I can't say for sure since I didn't take very good care of him, but he did end up being in a 3 Gallon tank for the last year and a half of his life (: I feel like that sort of makes up for what I put him through before that.

i had one live almost 6 years with me, i dont know how old he was when i got em though
