Why is my baby growing so slow?

I got him when he was 6 weeks old, and now it's 2 months later. I don't have a picture from when I first got him. He hasn't grown tho! I have him in a 5 gl tank. Any reason why he wouldn't be growing? Maybe the runt of the fry?

I have two of them that aren't growing very fast either. Are you doing plenty of water changes? What are you feeding them? I am switching over to a better brand of food to try and speed up my babies growth.

I am feeding nls small fish formula, and of course doing water changes! I'm doing every thing right he's just growing extremely slow.

Do you know if those are stress stripes o.o? Maybe something is stressing him/her out.

I bought a baby too, she's so tiny I can't even find her sometime. Haven't had her long so not sure how fast they grow.

Good luck though : )

Odds are that your babies growth was stunted (at least to some degree) before you purchased him. There are reports that some chains stunt the smaller fry in the spawns on purpose to keep them small and easier to sell as babies.

Some fish are just bigger than others. Goes for all animals

As far as I know, stunted growth of young fish can be a reflection of poor diet early on.
