Problem with one of my girls.

I came home and she was laying behind the cave with her head against the gravel. I noticed the water was a but cold, so I turned the heater up a little. When I did this she moved and sat in one of the leaved in one of my plants. The rest if the girls and the platy are all swimming happily so I know it's not the water. So I got my net and removed her from the tank and put her in a one gallon bowl I have. She ran away from the net just fine.

Her breathing seems labored, she has stress lines that come and go. She keeps sticking her head about halfway out the water, and then spitting up a huge bubble. She does this a few times and then she goes and rests on the bottom. Anybody have some suggestions of what's wrong with her/what to do?

well im no expert with bettas but to be honest i have a similar dilema in my big tank. all my fish are happy and healthy exept one neon tetra. when i got my water tested turns out there was some ammonia so i would get your water tested just to be sure and if the water test is ok she might have been sick when you got her or is sick from old age. ( depends on how long you've had her.) correct me if im wrong.

I got her yesterday, and she was very active up until I got home. I got the other four bettas at the same time. It just doesn't seem right. The tank is fairly new, with plants. I had one of my platys in there before I put yhe girls in there to get the cycle going. She is lifeless now, just out of it, then she swims to the top, gets air with her whole face out of the water, spits out a bubble bigger than her eye, and goes back to the bottom

Swollen how? I've never really heard of swollen gills before.

Although, if you just got her recently, she might have just been in poor water conditions and she got ammonia burn or something. Do her gills look red?

If you have any small cave or plant, I would recommend you putting them in her bowl, it would help her reduce stress. ): If she stresses herself out too much, it can be bad for her health.

Perhaps try giving her a few salt baths and changing the water regularly. And of course make sure to keep her warm. Even a bit of bettafix might help a little (healing power + it's supposed to do energize with their electrolytes)

Her gills are like, I can't explain it. You know they look when a fish dies, kind of like that. She also seems to have a bubble stuck in her mouth, but when it gets out, she goes and gets another bubble.
