For a power-outage I'd probably freak out, then use what others suggested- blankets and foil all around. I have three cats, so putting the fish out by the fire probably wouldn't be a good idea. Thankfully, my room heats up by body heat alone fairly quickly. If I grab my family, I think I could keep everyone fairly warm :P

I have a 90 year old neighbor that has a cat and she asked me to take him if something ever happens to her. I told her yes, but he'll NOT be allowed in my room!! lol

Haha, my friend had a betta fish and a cat,
and whenever youd see the cat by the fish bowl, he would never eat them, he'd just drink the water and watch him like they were friends.
The fish, of course, was cowering in the back end of the tank

I have another neighbor who let her cat drink out of the fishbowl!! Eeuuwww!!!! BAD for the fish AND the cat!!

Mmm yeah, Smokey could care less about the fish I used to have. He would always try to drink the water out of my girl's vase, though. :/

At the office were I have most of my Bettas we have a back up generator that is connected to all the units. At home I have battery powered air pumps for all mt tank and kerosene heater to heat the house as well as a fire place.
