oh- in asian markets you can get dried minnows- they put them in soup- they're kinda betta sized

Eeeuuuwww! I would NOT want to eat aquarium fish!!! I do like seafood, though. I love shrimp and I like salmon. I've heard of eating goldfish crackers! lol

Haha that is sooo wrong! I love seafood also, but I would never eat a goldfish or one of my bettas; I'm gagging just thinking about it. I do eat the cheddar cheese goldfish tho...those are VERY good.

Regarding the temp for betta; my experience is that 72(F) is probably as low as you want to go. If your house is naturally warm with no drafts, you're good. Since these are fish that live in rice paddies and slow moving water, 76-80(F) is a reasonable range. If you are growing plants; however you will have to do some research with regard to which plants require what temp. Remember an enclosed hood light will generate enough heat to melt plastic. I marred the top of my brand-new filter by not moving the hood far enough away while doing a little substrate maintenance.

ya know thats a really sick story, gagging, but..........

its nice to know at least they ARE charging her with animal cruelty. a few weeks ago i heard about a guy who went to his LFS and bought some sort of saltwater fish. he went back a week later and saw one he liked better, so he brought his fish back and attempted to exchange it. the LFS said no exchanges, of course, so he ranted and caused a big scene telling them theyd be sorry. he came back a week later and dropped chlorine pool tabs in their 600 gallon saltwater tank. you know what happened next. BUT, they ARE charging him with animal cruelty! its just great to know that fish count too!
