2.5 Gallon Tank

Hey Betta Fans-

If i get a 2.5 tank can someone please tell me the cleaning instructions. I am trying to decide on where to put it and i know i will have to clean it more frequently that say a larger tank, so i want to make sure i put it where i can access it easily. If someone can tell me about 50% water changes etc. thank you.

Personally, Id change a gallon 2 times a week.

I vacuum the gravel in mine-- just make sure you get a smaller siphon that will fit nicely in it. I change out about 50% every week. Mine is filtered by hob.

It depends whether its cycled or not!

It will have a filter and the water will be cycled. Ok, so i could change 50% once a week. And if possible vacuum the gravel. What if the filter is one of those that is under the gravel? Also, at anytime do you do 100 % water change?or is it always 50%?

If you cycle, the amount of water you change depends on your water parameters.

I have a filter on mine and do a 2/3 water change every 7 days, just to be on the safe side. I use a small gravel syphon.

yep, but having a filter and being cyclled are two different things. Yours is not cycled I am guessing

Can someone explain what cycled is? I have a feeling it is something i know but not by that name...
