Bubble Nest in the Dark?

Alright so ive noticed that both Gillian and Chad only make bubble nests when its dark, I never get to acctually see them doing it. Sawyer has till yet to make one, and I think Ive only seen Desmond do it a few times, but really only a few little bubbles. Do your betta do it in the dark or at night also?

Mine always seem to spring up while I'm either sleeping or away for the day :3 It drives me nuts, since I've never seen any of my boys actually making one.

Yup!
Strawberry and Caesar seem to make their nests during the night too.
But once in a while I'll see them make one. It's rather cute cx
Kovu, doesn't know how to make a nest, lol.
He just spews random bubbles all over the place when he tries xD

Both Dean and Sammy make their nests when I'm asleep or out. I have however seen Sammy blow a few bubbles, but I don't know if it was part of his nest or not. I came home yesterday after not seeing them for 24 hours and they have both built huge nests in their new tanks, so I'm glad they are happy!

doggyhog, nice name for your fish ;)

Mine build nests all the time lol! They seem to make the most progress at night, but they also work on them during the day. I think it's cute to watch ;) By the end of the week they're HUGE and I feel so bad destroying them.

Pickle tends to make his nests when Im sleeping or away.
Once I was gone with my friend for half an hour, and I came back to find a bubble nest the side of a tennis ball in his tank!
By the end of the week, it basically took up half the tank,
So when I put him in his new home or after I clean his tank, I try to scoop up some bubbles and put them in the new tank to make him feel more at home.
I dont know if it works, but he loves to build off them!

Most of the time I see bubble nests in the morning or when I've been away, but I caught one of my bettas making it in the middle of the day. I don't think he knew I was watching (maybe they want privacy while building a bubble nest?). It was very cute! He took a breath on the right, turned to the left then tiny little bubble came out of his mouth, and he kept repeating this over and over. I guess it's one bubble at a time.
