I woke up this morning and went over to my tank and turned the lights on to give my baby his breakfast, and what do I find? I HUGE section of his tail is missing!!!!



I know that it isn't fin rot. There's aquarium salt AND betta fix in his tank.
I have come to conclude this is the culprit.



So today after school I will remove the undergravel filter and give him a salt bath. *FRUSTRATION*

You could also have a tail biter. It might not be the filter...

Ya, my double tail likes biting his tail and top fin, they are really large, so he swims in circles.... its crazy... but what can i do!?

I don't want to take any chances. I'm going to take out the filter now. Lets hope he heals completely.

Try putting a girl next to him. My Pax, hasn't bit his tail for a few weeks now!!! He is next to Ivy, and always bubble nesting. :)

Okay the filter's out now and I will give him the salt bath tomorrow. He seems fine now. He's sleeping at the moment X3.

I've got the same thing going on. the diffrence is that mine started after taking the stone ect.. out of the tank. one betta is all into bubblenesting now but my troubled betta dos'nt seem to even notice he has a problem .! go figure. I started saltbaths last night (have been medacating for servrel days , weening off the meds slowlyy) the meds doing nothing at all and shall see what happen. oh yea,,i put the airstone back in I don't recommend doing this but taking it out just did nothing Good luck and hope things work out ...
