If he is too aggressive then I would take the female out and not breed him for awhile.

I'm hoping you aren't trying to breed them in 3-5 gallon tanks because that is too small.

I would suggest doing more research before attempting breeding again.

hi angelicscars, i spawned 2 of my pair in a 2.5 gallon eclipse. I just put alot of live plants and java moss for the female to hide in. My males also flared the whole time they were courting. They will flare to until he gets his nest the way he wants it. Im not saying to go ahead and spawn them i was just giving a little input. Hope this is a little help8).

How old were the babies when you moved them to a bigger tank?

Because you spawned them in a tank that small, doesn't mean it was a good way to breed your betta.

dramaqueen, are you asking me? If you are they are just free swimming. I just net them and make sure the temp is the same as the tank they were in. I have a nursery tank that is already set with all the necessities for there survival at such a young age. They don't seem to stress as they dont breath air until they are five weeks old, thats when there one and only lung is fully developed.
