So I went to two petstores today...

And I saw some amazing fish.
I believe I went to Pet-cetera, they had about 4-5 male betta's in a row, in those cups again.
The water was tinted blue..?
I dont know.
Anyway, one of the male's (A double-tail) Had a really bad nipped tail,
it was about a quarter length of his body,
and this beautiful royal blue VT was laying on the bottom of his cup,
he seemed seriously lethargic.
And when I asked to see their females, as I couldnt find where they were kept,
the worker showed me this tank, just about as big as Pickles, with about six females in there.
I hadnt seen them becuase they were about the size of a nickle,
I wondered if they were bettas at all.
They were pretty, but I didnt really like them that much.
They had some nipped fins, nothing serious though.
The second store I went to,
had many, many more males.
They were all VTs, and this marble one was extremely scrawny and had a strangely fat head and little to none finnage.
There was also a royal blue VT with tons of fin,
I dont even know if it would be considered a VT-- Amazing xD
They did seem somewhat well kept, a little better than most stores.
No females were seen here, but they are getting a new shipment Thursday, so Ill be going there pronto.
They also have tanks, exactly the same style as Pickles, but they get pretty
big.
I believe there was a 5 gallon there, worth 19 dollars.
Im going to make another trip there in a few days and grab
one of those tanks, just for Pickles sake :3

I think it's Petsmart here that their water for bettas is tinted blue. The first time I saw it I was like WOAH.

The water is blue because they preventatively medicate the fish with methylene blue.

I don't like when they do that because you can't tell what color the fish are! lol

Yeah, the blue is medication. Of course, they probably wouldn't be getting sick if they had clean water and were taken well care of...

Good luck with a new betta!
