One of my boys used to bite for boredom I re escaped his tank several times just moving stuff around and changing decorations it used to help for a while but bitting came back until I added plants well java moss and some Indian almond leafs he has stoped and his fins are coming back

You could try cutting pictures out of magazines and taping them behind his tank for him to look at. I put up a different picture every time I change water and Wally is always very interested. Ellie and Marty don't even seem to notice their pictures. I suppose it's an individual thing. It's a cheap way to keep the environment ever-changing so they don't get bored. I choose really bright-colored pictures -- parrots are good -- and Wally will often just hang in the water and stare at a new picture for several minutes, like he's fascinated.

She suggested pygmy cories because of their small size - a school of 6 to 10 would be fine in the 10 gallon because they rarely get bigger than 3/4 of an inch big. They stay cute and tiny.

Pygmy cories sound adorable! I have bronze cories that get about 2" or so.
