My poor betta, Riemann, lives in a rather small bowl. Due to my current financial situation, I can't afford to get him larger living accomodations. Having purchased a cheap thermometer from my local Wal-mart, I've discovered that I'm not really keeping him warm enough (74 F, usually) and the horror stories I've read about heaters in small bowls leave me unwilling to risk that option.
Here's the question: my PC runs Folding@Home and so is running at 100% CPU most of the time and generating a fair bit of heat 24-7. I'm wondering this: if I place my bowl close enough to the vents on my computer, would the heat thrown off be enough to help him out a bit? I have a lamp on him by day; this would mostly be for at night when the lamp is off.
Any opinions would be appreciated!
