Thank you for your help

Just wanted to thank everyone here for your help and support while my betta was sick. He had fin rot but it seems to be healing now. While I was gone on vacation, I asked my coworker to feed him and give him more treatment if he looks worse. He has been back in the 3 gallon tank and is doing fabulous! His color is back and the fin looks like it's starting to grow back.

The weird moldy thing is starting to accumulate again in both tanks I have and I think I just have to live with cleaning it all the time. i dont' know what I'm doing wrong but it looks like it's gonna be fine as long as I clean them. I checked the water and it's fine.

Glad he is doing better. Do your tanks have filters? The reason I ask is I had one 2.5 gallon tank that I had a white film that was on the glass and it would always come back but after I put a small tetra filter in the tank I have not had any problems.

Yes I have the Marineland Eclipse 3 and it comes with a filter and a light (6 gallon at home). The white stuff is on the rubber suction on the thermometer and the heater that goes under the gravel. It smells like mold but I didn't even notice till I pulled them out. I washed everything really well with hot water but it might be coming back and I definitely have the same thing happening at home now. Is there a different water conditioner I can use to prevent this??
