exercise mirror?

when i first knew about the exercise mirror i hated it cause i did not want to stress my fish...but now im wondering if with a betta who has a tail bitting problem putting an exercise mirror in his tank for just a couple seconds (like 30 sec.) 2-3 a week would help him....what do you think?

A mirror could help relieve boredom, if that's the reason he's tail biting. Or it could add stress and make him bite even more. Are your conditions good, plenty of plants, etc.? If you're sure it's boredom that's causing him to bite, I'd day go for it- just keep an eye out if he starts acting more stressed than before. I let my girls flare at a mirror a few times a week (unless they're sick) and they seem to get a kick out of it.
