I found that flower at Walmart. The bottom is weighted so it doesn't float. I'm thinking of getting my own camera someday soon. It's actually kind of fun to post pics! lol

i actually think hes a combtail, because of the amount of webbing, instead of how long crowns usually are

I got him at Petsmart and he was labeled a crowntail. Rusty was labeled a crowntail, too, and he has real short spikes.

hmmm i forgot what the reuirements were exactly to distinguish the two

when i went today to get calmwaters her fish, they had a bunch mislabeled, when i told the employee, she said someone has been going in and changing lids to get the halfmoons as cheap as veiltails......i was like wth? no wonder i cant ever find a halfmoon lol

ok this is what i found out.........we must have combtails, how cool!

The Combtail Betta is a fringe-finned type that usually arises as a result of a cross between a ST (singletail, non-fringe betta) and a CT (crowntail, fringe-finned betta). Instead of having the minimum 33% reduction in webbing that designates a true Crowntail, the Combtail has a slightly spikey appearance.
