I was at Meijers today, doing some grocery shopping and I decided to check out their bettas. I had a problem a few years ago with them not taking care of their bettas and I sent them an e-mail about it. They answered me saying that they were sorry and that they would look into it. They seemed concerned but whenever I went back after that, it seemed like nothing had changed. Now, these last few months, I have noticed some changes. The bettas are in bigger containers, well, bigger than the ones at Petsmart. And the biggest surprise was that today I saw that they had a caresheet next to the bettas! I thought great, it'll probably say to keep them in a .5 gallon vase and feed them once to twice a week. I got home and read it.
!. It stated to keep it in a regular sized aquarium and if you keep it in anything small, that the water needed to be kept clean and changed often.
2 It said to watch for temperature changes if housing in a small bowl.
3 Feed a good variety of food.
4 It stressed the importance of clean water.
5 It said bettas should not be housed with other bettas, male or female.
It said before breeding to check out books from your local library.
6 It gave a list of equipment needed to care for a betta properly.
This is just an outline of the care sheet. I thught it gave some pretty good info.
