Wanted: RCS/ CRS

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any red cherry shrimp they want to get rid of/sell. I've looked around aquabid and LFS and I find it's really expensive. My LFS sells them for $4-$7 each. I'd like to keep crystal red shrimp too. If anyone is sellling any or knows of where i can find some for a goood price, please let me know :)

Good luck! I got mine from a local classified. When people keep males and females together they just breed! So ask on a local site as well.

i will probably be giving or trading some for plants in the spring. it is too cold here in minnesota to ship them. i do not even want to try it.the cherries i just picked up a week or so ago are already berried. they are type of fire red cherries.not sure if they are sakura, or fire red type.they are much more colorful than regular cherries.i do have 1 regular cherry female in there too,so some may be a cross.

someone was just selling yellows on the tfk site about a month ago. they may still have some. as soon as it gets above 40* i would consider sending some out. i should be overstocked by then. i just saw some on ebay-$20 for 6 of them. i would rather do a roak or plant trade though. receiver pays shipping though.

RCS and CRS require different parameters entirely. You'll need two tanks. CRS are extremely sensitive.

Oh yes, I was planning on having two different shrimp tanks or just keeping one type. I really enjoy the way CRS look but I also realize they're suuuuuper sensitive and am still debating on whether I want to keep them or not.

If you haven't had shrimp before, I would start out with RCS and once successful, try the CRS.

You could start now cycling the tank since they should be fully mature (one invert forum suggest two months minimum) before adding shrimp. Here is a link to some super nice RCS. http://www.shrimpcentral.com/red-cherry-shrimp/

Have bought from him before and they are very healthy and active.

I've had a nice RCS colony in the past but had to take the tank down at the time. I really do enjoy that website though! It's a good one!
