I'm worried about him. He keeps lying on the bottom of the breeding net-almost sideways too.

His colour is good and he ate his 2 pellets...but he'll swim around a little and then go lay on the bottom again.

I went and exchanged his heater since the other one didn't work, so right now I'm waiting for it to heat up before i put him in his 5 gal.

The water seems to be clean today. Hydro Quebec came to check it out, they're guessing it was from the construction work that we were having.

Well, odd thing...

Like I said, he kept lying at the bottom on the breeding trap. What he would do is go by the edges of the net where the frames are and squirm up and under that.

Well, obviously I was worried he would get stuck or suffocate. He kept doing that, too. Lying sideways on the bottom while jamming himself under the frame.

So I remembered that my uncle also had a breeding trap made of plastic. No frames or anything for him to get stuck in. I put him in there and he seems to have perked up? He's not lying on the bottom as much anymore, and not lying sideways. Maybe he's just weird.

I don't know. He swims a bit more and flares like crazy at the girls when they swim by, but otherwise he mostly just stays inactive at the top.

His colour is as amazing as ever, and I don't really see anything odd with him otherwise...maybe it's just because he's in a breeding trap and doesn't have much room? It's until his heater kicks in.

How long are they supposed to take, anyway? It's been a little more than 12 hours since i plugged it in and it's only at 73 degrees still-hasn't heated or cooled at all. This 5 gallon doesn't seem to have good luck with heaters.

I bet hes okay For short periods of time I've kept Sasuke in one of those and he doesn't swim around much either, its probably lack of space, if he otherwise seems fine....

Hmm...is it, like, an adjustable heater or one of those mini ones? I had a mini one in my five at first and it didn't heat it very well either...However, they work great in my 2.5 gallons.
