Troublesome gals

So its been three nights now since I introduced two new girls to the four that were already in the tank. I tried rearranging, adding some plants, putting them all in and just letting them go at it til things settled. But everytime I go by their tank I see them still chasing and nipping each other. Several of the females still have dark stress lines. Should I give it up and house the two aggressive ones on their own? Almost every girl has some sort of fin damage, a few have some serious shredding. They're in a five gallon, I was thinking about getting a ten, but would that even work? I don't want them to destroy each other anymore!

Well, that's where your problem is! You can't keep multiple females in a 5 gallon. You need at least a 10 gallon tank.

alright, i'll try and get it tomorrow..
any advice on treating their fins though? I don't want them to get fin rot or anything.

Yeah, you definitely need a 10 gallon with lots of hiding/get away places.

I agree with what has been posted already. For the fins do salt baths and clean water.

omg!! well there is your problem! you need 10 gals!

Make sure you cycle that tank b4 you just add all those fish, especially with the fin damage, you dont want them to have ammonia burns and such during the cycling process. The Ammonia and Nitrites can be very toxic, and they wont heal up with that heavily in the water.
