So my betta Ruuti is still seeming unwell (I posted about him a while back - I can provide a link to that thread if needed)...
He's starting to lose scales on his head and the area looks kinda "moldy" - NOT white or fuzzy (I tried treating him for fungal infections with API Fungus Cure, and that produced no results, good or bad)...
I've also done several rounds of major water changes and tried treating conservatively with some aquarium salt - no results.
He's basically lost a LOT of colour (really dull looking), his fins are majorly clampy, and he's super nervous-acting... darting around, etc. Not really scratching on anything, but still darting around a lot. His appetite is fine.
SO - I thought I could try treating him both for bacterial infection and parasitic infection, and I bought API General Cure to try treating for parasites first... so... my questions are:
*should I treat for bacterial first, or parasites first?
*should I treat for parasites if I'm not 100% sure that's what it is?
*will API General Cure or Maracyn I & II harm invertebrates? (I have small snails)
Some other stats...
His tank setup - 5 gallons, 3 small live plants, 4 tiny snails, sand substrate, heated to 78 degrees F, and filtered VIA sponge filter (has been in this setup for about 3-4 months)
He eats around 3 Omega-One pellets and a bloodworm per day
I've stopped using aquarium salt
And that's about it!!
Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU!
