Is this ok? and heating question

Currently I am using about 1 gallon critter keepers as homes for 2 of my bettas. Is that ok? I would change the water 100% a couple times a week.. For heating, what can I do? Since it is plastic, and about 1 gallon, I'm not sure how I should keep it warm. Right now I've been mixing regular treated tap water with some slightly heated microwave water to keep the tanks on the warmer side, which it works, but how should I keep it a stable temp? Thanks.

Do you mean to say you have 1 critter keeper that you've split? Or did I read that wrong?

The Tetra heaters seem to work better in smaller tanks, actually. I bought one that didn't heat my 5 gal at all, but I moved it to my 2.5 gal and it keeps it around 75-77 degrees.
