Okay, so what do you think he will look like when he "grows up" He is only about 1 inch long right now (head to tail tip). Also, how long till he is all grown up? lol

He's a cutie. Call him Lucky or Shrimpy.

Get him some Betta pellets too so he has a balanced diet. If you're going to use freeze-dried bloodworms, you should soak them in a little of his tank water for about 15 mins. before you feed them to him.

Good luck. I wouldn't have been able to pass him up either :)

Tiny, tiny boy. I would say maybe a year? Year and a half?
His body may get darker in color, but I don't think he'll change much other than that.
He's stunning.

Going to pick up some pellets today. Opps.

He has changed color too. I noticed it a few hours after I put him in his new home, and even more this morning. His fins are much more blue and his body is also darker.

It will be interesting to see what color he ends up being. They will pale up when stressed and in poor conditions. My only female was brown with dark horizontal (stress) stripes when I "rescued" her. I knew no-one else would buy a betta that color - especially a female.

After a few days in a heated filtered tank she turned dark blue that gradually fades to lighter blue on her fins. She's so pretty now and a real tank zoomer.

Getting Darker!

Below are a few new pictures. As you can see he has gotten much darker.

I think I really lucked out with him. He does not hide at all. When I approach his bowl he comes right up to the glass to say hello. I’m wondering if he was new to the pet store as he was in a container right in fount on top of another. He was the only double tail and the only one that was not dark blue or red. He was so funny this morning. Like ya’ll suggested I took out a little bit of his water to let the bloodworms soak in and I spilt a few drops of water on the outside of his bowl. He kept trying to get the little bubbles. It was too cute!
