Question Short tail???

Oh Cinder, Cinder, how you never cease to hold my attention.

So I was observing my boy today after church in a recliner chair by the window (how relaxing!). He's been ecstatic about his new location in the living room and has been blowing HUGE bubblenests lately (particularly under one of the leaves of his plants Just a massive thing! It looks like a patch of crystal!).

Anyway, I was letting Cinder chase my finger around and I noticed that, over time, Cinder's body has elongated and gotten slightly bigger and his other fins have grown out proportionally, but he's missing that characteristic 'veil-tail' tail! It's almost like it got bit off, but I know he hasn't chewn on himself at all; it's been that length since I first brought him home.

He's eating well, his tank water is 78 degrees F, he's still a vibrant color and he's making huge bubblenests and being very active.... maybe he's hit a stunt on his growth? Or perhaps he has another growth spurt left to go? I know he was TINY and very young when I got him, so I dunno....

Thoughts?
