also, the temp is perfect so thats not an issue. She is sitting on the bottom of the tank and breathing heavily. I have read other posts about aquarium salt? Not sure what that does but I am open for suggestions. Is there anything I can buy at Petco or something to put in the water? I just dont get it she was doing so good and very active and then all of a sudden she wont eat and is sitting on the bottom.

First off, don't put anything in the water. Monkeying around with medicines does fish more harm than good unless all other resources have been exhausted.

How big is the tank?
How often do you clean it?
How much water do you change?
Any water parameters?
What exactly is the temperature?
Any tankmates?

Tank is 5 gallons
I clean it once a week if not twice a week
I do a 75% water change
She shares her tank with 3 ghost shrimp
And im not sure what a water parameter is. (sorry kinda new at this)
Also, Im noticing that her color isnt as vibrant red as it usually is. Its almost a little white. Thanks for the help Kelly528

Do you have a freshwater test kit? Without knowing what your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and PH are in your buddies tank, you don't have much to start with.

It sounds like the temp. is ok and you change out the water weekly.

Was the tank cycled before you added the fish? If you can't test the water I suggest getting a sample to your local fish store so they can tell you what's going on.
