Oh yeah. You need a filter to cycle the tank. :)

I highly recommend the Aqueon Power filter! Cheap, and will get the cycling process started really fast!

They both look great. I have 6 girls in my 10 gallon and they get along great now that they have figured out whose boss. It took them about a week or so to get settled in.
