I'm going to be getting a 7 Gallon soon ($15 w/ 2 heaters&red/white/black gravel, thank you Craigslist.), but I wanted to ask everyone a question. Do you think it would be better to divide it between 2 Bettas with 3.5 Gallons each or just one with 7 Gallon's all to him/herself? Either way, I'm think about planting it aswell, if that mkes any diffrence.

A betta with a 5 gallon all to himself would be very happy! I think if you put a divider and share it with 2 betta's, the betta's would probably be stressed from flaring at each other too much.
And personally I would not divide it. You're betta can have all that wonderful room to himself :)
Plus, you can have room to put other critters (snails, frogs, tetras, etc).
I would divide it myself..........i have many divided tanks, all the boys are doing just fine, and they can see each other perfectly. they flare, they dont flare, it depends on their mood lol
I agree with both ideas. If you want to have just bettas then divide it. I have a few in divided tanks and they are fine they stop flareing at each other after a few days. But if you want other fish or things do not divide it. All depends on what you personally like better. Either way is ok for the betta.
Honestly its purely a matter of preference. Both 3.5 and 7 gallons per betta is more than sufficient space. If you keep him by himself, you could manage some small tankmates like frogs or snails or ghost shrimp, maybe an oto to keep the plants clean.
If you divide it I suggest you explore the possibility of dividing it with a moss wall. It looks awesome once you work out the filtration and heating.
