my fish keep getting rips in their tail..

First Arthur had one, and now Aisu has the exact same thing..it's like a clean split near the middle of his tail. I don't know what it could be other than the plants They both live in seperate 2.5 gallons and I clean their water every 2 days..I think I need to get rid of the plastic plants and get new soft ones tomorrow when i go shopping for my sorority stuff.

should i try giving them a salt bath first? arthur's already had 2 and bettafix but it doesn't seem to be healing his fins. this is really frustrating.

I would try some Betta Fix. It helps to heal wounds and torn fins.

Sounds like he's blowing his fins. Caused by overflaring or swimming too hard against a filter current. What kind of filters are you running and is there a light above the tanks?

I currently only have airators running in the tanks until I get my check so i can stock up on supplies, and the current from that is slim to none; they just blow bubbles. I just gave Aisu a salt bath and I'll put some bettafix in his tank..I just cleaned it. =) The plants are taken out.

oh, oops..I forgot..The tanks have lights but I don't have them on that much.
